
Top official admits ministry should have told MPs about cancelled $35m IT project
MBIE's chief executive Nic Blakeley told a parliamentary committee the ministry "got things wrong" by not telling MPs in March it had cancelled a $35 million IT project. Blakeley said MPs could have been told in a closed-door hearing, keeping the public out, without harming talks with the company involved, NEC. He accepted not doing so was a failing.
