Maine Democrats Choose Troy Jackson for Senate Seat

Maine Democrats picked former state Senate President Troy Jackson to run for U.S. Senate on July 25, 2026. He replaces Graham Platner, whom NPR called "scandal-plagued." The Washington Post said Jackson won by taking over the progressive movement that helped Platner rise. Party delegates in Augusta chose Jackson after other candidates dropped out.
