
New Education Minister for India After Exam Cheating Scandal
Pralhad Joshi became India's education minister on July 26, 2026. He replaces Dharmendra Pradhan, who quit after protests over a cheating scandal in NEET, the test students take to get into medical school. Joshi is a longtime member of parliament from the BJP party and has served in the cabinet since 2019. He will keep his other jobs in energy and consumer affairs.
