Wildfires in France and Spain have forced nearly 300,000 people to leave their homes or find shelter as of July 25–26, 2026. At least two people have died. France alone saw 220,000 flee. A third heatwave this summer has made fires spread fast on both sides of the mountains between the two countries, and no one knows when they will be brought under control.
