Maine Democrats Pick New Senate Candidate Troy Jackson

Maine Democrats meet in Bangor on Saturday to pick former state Senate President Troy Jackson as their U.S. Senate nominee, NPR reported. Jackson won enough support from party delegates on July 19 to challenge Republican Senator Susan Collins. The earlier nominee, Graham Platner, quit the race after a woman said he raped her in 2021. Platner denied the accusation, Reuters reported.
