Ottawa asks the public: who's responsible when a computer program fools you?

A federal paper on artificial intelligence cites a Toronto man who received a false $27,163 vehicle buyback offer from a dealership's computer chat program, Quinn, which did not say it was not a person. Ottawa asks who should be responsible when such a tool misleads someone. Public consultation runs until September 23.
