Meta Exits Renewable Energy Pledge After Investing in Natural Gas Plants

Meta has left RE100, a global initiative where companies commit to using 100% renewable energy. The group overseeing RE100 said Meta's investment in 10 new natural gas plants — enough capacity to power South Dakota — disqualifies it. Meta called the exit mutual. Microsoft, Google, and Apple still belong to the initiative.
