New AI tutoring tool for schools: helps students practice, then steps aside during tests

Former teacher Alex Southmayd launched Bloomy, a K-12 learning platform. Its AI tutor, BloomyBot, guides students through practice by asking questions that lead them to answers themselves. But during tests, where students must score 90% or higher to move on, the AI is absent — so it cannot mask what a student actually knows.
