AI company's own safety tools blocked its hacking investigation

After a July 2026 break-in, Hugging Face asked a commercial AI to study the attack records. The AI refused, treating the records as off-limits content. Hugging Face then ran its own AI in-house, finishing the work without sending sensitive data to an outside company.
