Health officials are investigating shredded lettuce supplied to Taco Bell as a possible cause of a widespread illness outbreak. The infection, called cyclosporiasis, comes from a tiny parasite that causes stomach sickness. The CDC has confirmed 1,645 cases and 145 hospitalizations across four states, with 5,100 more cases still being reviewed. Taco Bell has pulled the lettuce nationwide. No recall has been issued, and the CDC still calls the source "unknown."
