BP Sells Its Clean-Tech Investment Portfolio to Verdane

BP is selling most of the startup companies it backed through its investment arm, BP Ventures — over 10 firms worth about $1.2 billion — to a Nordic investment firm called Verdane. BP started investing in 2007 in areas like clean fuel, electric transport, self-driving cars, and geothermal energy. BP keeps a few unnamed holdings. The deal closes in mid-2027.
