
Iran Lets Iranian-American Woman Go Free After 18 Months
Iran freed Dena Karari, an Iranian-American held since December 2024 on spying charges. Trump said July 16 she is "now safely outside of Iran, and in good condition." Her lawyer, Jared Genser, called the charges "bogus." No known deal — meaning a trade or favor — was revealed. Trump called it a goodwill gesture during high tensions between the two countries.
