More Countries Now View China Favorably Than the U.S., Poll Finds

A poll of 42,151 people in 36 countries (Feb–May 2026) finds more people view China warmly than the U.S. in 25 of them — the first such shift in about 20 years. Only Poland, the Philippines, South Korea, India, Japan, and Israel still prefer the U.S. The change reaches across every region surveyed, touching democracies and military allies alike.
