J.B. Hunt's Sales Grew, but Profit Per Share Fell Far Short of Expectations

J.B. Hunt's Q2 2026 revenue was $3.50 billion, up 19% from a year ago. Operating income rose 32% to $259.5 million. But earnings per share — profit divided among shares — came in at $1.91, about 40% below the $3.17 analysts expected. Operating profits grew faster than sales, so costs outside the core business likely caused the shortfall.
