CDC's Top Job Empty as Trump Names Third Candidate for Senate to Consider

Dr. Erica Schwartz went before lawmakers on July 15 to be considered for the CDC's top job — Trump's third choice for the post. His first pick dropped out before hearings. His second was approved but then fired by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary, after a few weeks. The CDC has gone without a permanent leader for most of Trump's term.
