OpenAI stops making AI videos, clearing the way for others

OpenAI has shut down Sora 2, its tool for generating videos with artificial intelligence. Several smaller companies—ByteDance's Seedance, Kling AI, Video Rebirth, and Midjourney—continue operating in the space. One of them, PixVerse, just raised $439 million at a $2 billion valuation. The exit reduces competition but does not guarantee any single winner.
