Europe Demands Social Media Prove Safety for Kids First

The European Commission is flipping how it polices social media for children. Instead of letting platforms operate and punishing them later if harm emerges, platforms would need to prove their services are safe before kids can use them. A formal proposal comes in September and needs approval from Parliament and all EU countries.
