Apple Sues OpenAI, Claiming Stolen Product Secrets Through Employee Recruitment

Apple sued OpenAI in July for allegedly stealing confidential information about unreleased products. The case involves a former Apple designer now working at OpenAI who Apple claims used secret project names while recruiting Apple employees to leak details about upcoming devices. A second OpenAI employee reportedly kept an Apple computer and copied confidential technical files after joining the company in 2026. Apple had warned OpenAI in February without getting a response.
