Music Producer Brian Potter, Who Made 1970s Hits for Major Artists, Dies at 87

Brian Potter, a British music producer who helped create hit songs for major artists like the Four Tops and Glen Campbell, died July 9. With partner Dennis Lambert, Potter produced songs that crossed musical styles—country, soul, pop—when radio stations still played them all. He rose from being a drummer in England to making hit records in Los Angeles. The Four Tops said he revived their career after they left their original record label, Motown.
