Amazon's New Alexa Will Use Another Company's AI Brain

Amazon's redesigned Alexa voice assistant will rely on AI from Anthropic, a separate company, rather than Amazon's own technology. Internal documents show Amazon tested hundreds of specialized computer chips running Anthropic's AI in late 2025. This signals Amazon cannot yet build reasoning-capable AI as well as Anthropic, despite investing heavily in AI infrastructure.
