British Waters Stay Dangerously Warm for a Second Year

Waters off northwest Europe are about to become even hotter, continuing over a year of unusual warmth. Scientists measured ocean temperatures running 1.5–2°C warmer than normal through 2025, with severe conditions now common by mid-2026. This looks less like a yearly blip and more like a lasting shift, though nobody yet knows how long it will last.
