New Robot Dog Is Built for Filmmakers, Not Pet Owners

A new two-legged robot ships this fall for $800 (or $499 if you back it early). It has wheeled feet and a head that spins backward to record video — think smartphone gimbal that walks. It can follow you around. The real question: will it actually stay upright and avoid obstacles in the real world, or just in company demos.
