Venus Aerospace, a Houston company, has raised $90 million to develop a new type of rocket engine. Rather than burning fuel in the usual way, their design sustains controlled explosions that travel faster than sound, making engines more efficient. The company has tested the engine 600 times on the ground and flew it on an actual rocket last year.
