Apple Pledges $30 Billion to Buy Wireless Chips Made in America

Apple committed over $30 billion to Broadcom, its biggest US manufacturing deal to date. Broadcom will spend $1.5 billion expanding its Colorado factory to make the wireless components that let Apple devices connect to networks. The deal should result in 15 billion chips built on US soil.
