NASA Gives Forest Land to Federal Wildlife Program

NASA transferred 105 acres of Maryland forest to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on July 7, ending a five-year debate. The free transfer stopped a private developer sale that would have split up important animal habitat. The land sits next to a 13,000-acre nature refuge created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936.
