U.S. charges Indian gang leader in killing of Surrey Sikh religious figure

A U.S. federal court has charged Lawrence Bishnoi, a gang leader jailed in India, with ordering the June 2023 murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a Surrey gurdwara, or Sikh temple. U.S. authorities say Bishnoi's lieutenant also helped arrange the killing. This is the first official U.S. court document directly accusing Bishnoi of the homicide.
