Typhoon Spreads Damage Across China: Storm's Moisture Reaches Far From Coast

A typhoon hit China's Hainan island on July 3. Though the storm itself passed, the moisture it carried traveled hundreds of miles inland, causing floods in two distant regions: Guangxi and Liaoning. China declared its highest emergency level and sent rescue teams to both places, but the distance between them makes coordination difficult.
