SpaceX Plans to Put Data Centers in Orbit to Power AI

SpaceX filed plans with U.S. regulators to launch roughly one million satellites and place computer servers in orbit. The pitch: space-based servers could use solar power and cool themselves more efficiently than ground facilities. Nobody has yet built a working data center in space. Key unknowns remain: shielding against radiation, launch speed, and how fast information travels to and from orbit.
