Cuba experienced its eighth island-wide power outage since late 2024 on July 6, 2026. Power plants are failing faster than repairs can fix them. With fuel supplies arriving only twice a year, the system is running on fumes. If one more major plant shuts down, the entire grid could go dark with no way to restart it.
