Reddit Uses AI to Fight AI-Made Spam, Cuts User Exposure by 20 Percent

Reddit announced July 6, 2026 it is using artificial intelligence to catch fake posts and accounts created by other AI systems. Generative AI can now produce convincing spam faster than old detection methods work. Reddit blocks 23 million spam views daily and removes roughly 25,000 fake posts and comments per day. The company says spam exposure fell 20 percent in early 2026 compared to the quarter before.
