Greens want stricter limits on a harmful chemical in drinking water

The Green Party wants New Zealand to cut the allowed amount of nitrate — a chemical from farm fertiliser — in drinking water. They're proposing a level ten times lower than current rules allow. Co-leader Marama Davidson said up to 100,000 New Zealanders get sick each year from unsafe water.
