Canada picks company to build 12 new submarines
Prime Minister Mark Carney will announce Monday in Halifax which company will build 12 submarines for Canada — the country's biggest defence purchase ever. The cost ranges from $20 billion to $50 billion when you include the submarines' full lifespan of repairs and maintenance. Two companies are competing: one from Germany and one from South Korea. Carney makes the announcement before heading to a NATO meeting in Turkey.
