
Budget Airline EasyJet Sold to Investment Firm for £5.2 Billion
EasyJet, Britain's biggest budget airline, has agreed to be bought by Castlelake, a U.S. investment firm, for £5.2 billion on 5 July 2026. The company will no longer trade on the stock market. Castlelake raised its offer by 23% during a seven-week competition. Regulators in the UK and EU must approve the deal before it completes.
