Apple updates its small home speaker for better sound

Apple refreshed its small HomePod mini speaker with a new S10 chip, a tiny built-in brain that shapes sound, promising louder, clearer audio with better balance between soft and loud parts. It looks the same and costs $149. Pre-orders opened Oct. 13, 2026, and it reaches stores Oct. 30.
