Dollar gets stronger, Asian currencies stall
The Wall Street Journal's dollar index rose 0.21% to 97.58 on Oct. 12. Think of it as a strength score for the dollar. Worried investors bought dollars for safety, so Asian currencies barely moved. In my view, a strong dollar works like a hidden fee for Asian families and borrowers with dollar bills, erasing local gains.
