Azerbaijan bans religious headscarves in schools
Azerbaijan last month banned hijab, headscarves worn for religious reasons, in schools for students and staff. The rule says school clothing must stay separate from religion, like keeping classrooms neutral. State media says it keeps dress the same for everyone. The constitution separates government from religion but protects worship. About 96% are Muslim.
