Ireland's Turn Leading the EU: Irish Language Gets to Work

From July 2026, Ireland leads the European Union's Council. Irish, the country's native language, will now be used in actual meetings and official documents—not just ceremonially. For years it had symbolic status only. Now translators must be ready as Irish becomes a real working language in EU business.
