Nearly three in ten large U.S. companies reported their spring earnings by late April 2026. Eight out of ten beat what experts predicted they'd earn—far higher than the usual five or six out of ten. This suggests analysts underestimated how well companies would do, or profits stayed stronger than expected. The remaining companies will reveal if this pattern continues.
