Britain to spend more on defence, boosting military budget and jobs

Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on 30 June that Britain will spend 2.7% of every pound of national wealth on defence by 2027/28 — more than other NATO countries typically spend, but less than some allies want. The government is putting in £15 billion in new money and expects nearly 60,000 new jobs in British defence companies.
