Watchdog warns of problems in government's $478m school lunch programme

The Auditor-General — an official who checks how government spends money — has found problems with how the government picked contractors for its school lunch scheme. A company called Compass Group won a multimillion-dollar deal. Another contractor, the School Lunch Collective, got an extra $18 million after it was hired because nutrition rules hadn't been written down first.
