Spotify rival Tidal stops paying artists for AI-made music

Tidal will stop paying out earnings for songs generated entirely by artificial intelligence starting July 15, 2026. The streaming service is targeting artists who upload AI tracks in bulk to game the payment system. The company hasn't explained how it detects AI music or how artists can appeal if labeled wrongly, leaving musicians scrambling to check their libraries.
