Private equity firm profits twice on same company: first as lender, now as owner

CVC Capital Partners is buying Italian ingredient maker Irca from another owner. The unusual part: CVC's lending arm had financed that earlier purchase four years ago for roughly €1 billion. Now CVC's investment arm is acquiring the company—meaning different divisions of the same firm profit from the same asset.
