Google Blocks Meta from Using Its AI Technology

Google has cut off Meta's access to Gemini, its main artificial intelligence tool used by business customers, according to reporting on 28 June 2026. This is the first real consequence of growing conflict between companies that both build AI and sell cloud computing services. Neither company has explained the restriction. The move shows that companies making competing AI tools can no longer assume they'll have open access to each other's technology.
