Gaza's Schools Closed for Years; Students Can't Get Degrees Recognized Elsewhere

Every school in Gaza closed in October 2023 and hasn't reopened. High school students taking their final exams sit in cafés or travel to Cairo. Even though aid groups offer learning programs, degrees earned this way won't be accepted by universities in other Arab countries—a problem that will make rebuilding harder.
