Man Arrested Overseas for Stealing $250 Million From U.S. Food Assistance Programs

A Minnesota man was arrested in Somalia for running the largest food program scam during the pandemic. Abdikerm Abdelahi Eidleh, 42, claimed the government owed him $250 million for meals he said he provided to hungry children and adults — but never actually served them. He hid $5 million through fake companies. Getting him back to the U.S. is complicated because Somalia has no formal agreement with America to return suspects.
