Earthquakes in Venezuela damage Red Cross, blocking aid when it's needed most

Two strong earthquakes hit northern Venezuela on June 24, killing at least 32 people and injuring over 700. The Red Cross headquarters—the main organization coordinating help—was damaged in the same disaster. With 200 people trapped and eight hospitals affected, losing that coordination hub is a crisis on top of a crisis. U.S. sanctions and government restrictions already made getting aid into Venezuela difficult.
