Somalia Rejects Israel in Berbera

Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said Somalia will allow no Israeli presence 'under any circumstances,' in an Al Jazeera interview published Oct. 3, 2026. He claimed Israel wants a warship base in Berbera and use of its airport to be nearer Gulf states and Iran. Berbera is in Somaliland, which only Israel calls a country.
