Psychologist quits new youth academy programme after just two months

A youth academy run by Oranga Tamariki lost its psychologist after two months, according to a review from 2024. The Government had approved the plan to include a psychologist when it started in June 2024. The programme was supposed to help young people dealing with trauma using a structured approach. The psychologist's early departure is a problem because the whole programme depends on having mental health support on site.
