Government puts $24m toward turning research breakthroughs into businesses

New Zealand researchers are good at making discoveries, but they struggle to turn those discoveries into products that companies can sell — a problem for over a decade. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon is now spending $24 million on AI and biotech research. The government is removing rules that get in the way and providing money, but it's not certain this will actually change how universities work.
