Government Asks Meta to Review Security of Its AI Tool After Months of Use in Federal Agencies

The Trump administration is asking Meta to review the security of Llama, its artificial intelligence tool, as of June 2026. Federal agencies have already been using it for nine months to analyze contracts, fix computer problems, and identify aircraft landing sites. Normally security checks happen before deployment, not after. Meta's $600 billion plan to invest in the U.S. supports this arrangement.
